  • Gregory Ochoki

  • Ochocki was born in Africa, of Polish descent, in 1948 and soon afterwards moved to Chicago. Ochocki’s father was a chef who painted and sketched as a hobby. Influenced by his father, Greg entered an art contest when he was in the second grade and won first place for his age group. The exhibit toured the world. He was then placed into a special art program.

While attending Northern Illinois University, one of Ochocki’s classes won an art contest to do an environmental art project in Aspen, Colorado. Next, Ochocki and some friends started the Gosh Studios of Aspen. The studio created many custom art projects, among them; Learjet aircraft exterior designs for Johns Denver that were featured on the TV special “The Higher We Fly”.

Ochocki is currently living in Southern California where he works out of his won studio. Greg wishes to “create a visual dance with my work which will stimulate and excite people through the beauty and rhythm of colour.

After Ochocki has completed an original to be made into an edition, the process starts with silkscreening the different background colours on archival paper. Next, each shape is carefully hand-cut and painted out of the completed silkscreen colours as well as wood. Finally, each piece is painstakingly assembled and inspected. The final result is a truly unique 3-D multi-media limited edition.

Ochocki has exhibited widely in the United States, Australia and Japan. Ochocki is collected by such celebrities as John Denver. His work can also be found in many corporate collections such as: The Museum of Fine Art, Santa Fe, NM; General Motors Corporation; Hyatt Hotels, Inc.; GTE Corporation; Frito Lay Corporation; Sheraton Hotels, Inc.; First National Bank, Aspen, CO; U.S. Soil Company; M.B.I.A. Corporation; and Bank of Southern California.
